What exactly is a watershed? How does it work, and why should we care?

A watershed provides homes, communities, and businesses with fresh drinking water, recreational opportunities, and other vital resources. Illinois is home to dozens of watersheds, most of which eventually drain into either the Illinois or Ohio rivers. When it comes to watersheds, we've got answers! Explore what a watershed is and how it works.

Watershed 101 will give you the basics of understanding our local watersheds and the importance of caring for the water we interact with daily. Join Nicole Haverback, Illinois Extension Watershed Outreach Associate, for this informational presentation.
